Microsoft has put out a video as an update to let people know how the development of Windows 8 is going. In this video, it shows a laptop running Windows 8 booting up in just 10 seconds. So how was Microsoft able to do this? Well, the Kernel session is saved to a disk. Put simply, this cuts start-up time by anywhere between 30% and 70%. I know for a fact that my Windows 7 PC with a standard hard drive would only boot up in just 1 minute. Of course, if you want the fastest boot times on Windows 8, then it is recommended that you have a solid state drive ready.
So , without further ado, here is the video.
