For some of us, we’ve had a bit of a struggle in the last 24 hours. I for one knew that I was one of those people who had to struggle. Over the last day or two, O2(a mobile phone network here in the UK) had an outage which caused random customers to lose connection. This meant that those effective could not make or receive calls or text messages. Worse still, they could not use 2G or 3G to use the web on their phone. I know for a fact that I am glad to have my phone back in action.
However, I think that there is a takeaway from this experience. Some of us are dependent on our mobile phones as a way to stay in touch with people. We might complain about there being no signal or areas of our country where we can’t get any coverage. That being said, we should also think about those who are not able to afford a mobile phone. Whilst a lot of our phones have the ability to connect to the web or pull in our emails, we need to consider ourselves lucky that we even have a mobile phone in the first place. Simply put, appreciate the mobile phone that you have at the moment and be thankful that you even have a phone.
