It is official, after much speculation as to what the Windows 8 logo will look like, Microsoft have come out and pulled the veil off of their much anticipated logo for Windows 8(Microsoft’s upcoming operating system). As pictured above, the Windows 8 logo is no longer using the flag-like structure that has been used in Windows Logos since the days of Windows 3.1.
Have a look at the Windows Logo for Windows 1.0. As you can tell, Microsoft have drawn a lot of inspiration from the Windows 1.0 Logo for the design of the Windows 8.
Personally, I think that it is not a redesign of a logo, it is a modification of the Windows 1.0 Logo. If you think about it, they have just made the rounded square into a slanted square and changed the font.
