The folks over at Microsoft have silently put up a blog post on the Japanese Microsoft Blog. In this post, they have set the following “End-of-Life” dates for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. This means that Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, Vista or 7 after the following dates:
Windows XP: 8th April 2014
Windows Vista: 11th April 2017
Windows 7: 14th January 2020
So there you have it, the dates are now set in stone. I think that there are going to be a few people who will still use Windows XP, Vista and 7 after their respective End-of-Life dates. That being said, users running Windows 7 Professional will have access to a virtual machine running Windows XP if they have something mission critical which needs Windows XP.
