Some of you out there might be using a cloud storage service called DropBox. You may have also heard about the security breach that also happened. Following that, the people at DropBox have outlined a slew of security measures to increase the safety of people’s accounts and their personal data. Just yesterday, the folks at DropBox have enabled two-step verfication. Essentially, when you log into your dropBox account, you will be asked to enter in a one-time passcode alongside your usual DropBox password. You can either have the one-time passcode sent to you as a text-message, or use something like google authenticator to generate your one-time passcode. Again, a slight inconvenience but you have to give up some inconvenience in return for security.
I have already changed my password and I am definitely going to be enabling two-step verfication. I really do care about the safety of my data online and I highly recommend that you also turn on two-step verification right now.
